Step 2 Believe God Wants Good Things For You

Psalm 31:19

Everything belongs to God and He can give it to whomever He chooses

Psalm 24:1    The earth is the Lord’s, and all its fullness, The world and those who dwell therein.

Psalm 50:10    For every beast of the forest is Mine, And the cattle on a thousand hills.

God takes great pleasure in giving good things to His children

The Bible tells us He has prepared and stored up goodness just waiting to bestow it upon those who love him. That statement brings to mind a grandmother who shops all year long for Christmas gifts and has them hidden away all over the house. She cannot wait to wrap them up and present them to her beloved family. She has been mindful all year of each child and grandchild. She knows them. She knows the things they enjoy, their hobbies, their sizes and favorite colors. It is her delight to spend her money on them. That’s how God is.

Genesis 12:2    And I will make of you a great nation, and I will bless you [with abundant increase of favors] and make your name famous and distinguished, and you will be a blessing [dispensing good to others].

Genesis 33:11   Accept, I beg of you, my blessing and gift that I have brought to you; for God has dealt graciously with me and I have everything.

Genesis 39:2-5 But the Lord was with Joseph, and he [though a slave] was a successful and prosperous man; and he was in the house of his master the Egyptian. And his master saw that the Lord was with him and that the Lord made all that he did to flourish and succeed in his hand.  So Joseph pleased [Potiphar] and found favor in his sight, and he served him. And [his master] made him supervisor over his house and he put all that he  had in his charge. From the time that he made him supervisor in his house and over all that he had, the Lord blessed the Egyptian’s house for Joseph’s sake; and the Lord’s blessing was on all that he had in the house and in the field.

Genesis 39:23     The prison warden paid no attention to anything that was in [Joseph’s] charge, for the Lord was with him and made whatever he did to prosper.

Genesis 49:25    By the God of your father, Who will help you, and by the Almighty, Who will bless you with blessings of the heavens above, blessings lying in the deep beneath, blessings of the breasts and of the womb.

2 Kings 18:7  And the Lord was with Hezekiah; he prospered wherever he went.

Psalm 1:3     He shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that brings forth its fruit in its season, whose leaf also shall not wither; and whatever he does shall prosper.

Psalm 3:8-8     Salvation belongs to the Lord. Your blessing is upon Your people.

Psalm 21
The king shall have joy in Your strength, O Lord;
And in Your salvation how greatly shall he rejoice!
You have given him his heart’s desire,
And have not withheld the request of his lips. Selah
For You meet him with the blessings of goodness;
You set a crown of pure gold upon his head.
He asked life from You, and You gave it to him—
Length of days forever and ever.
His glory is great in Your salvation;
Honor and majesty You have placed upon him.
For You have made him most blessed forever;
You have made him exceedingly glad with Your presence.

For the king trusts in the Lord,
And through the mercy of the Most High he shall not be moved.

Psalm 23:1-3    The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me to lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside the still waters. He restores my soul; He leads me in the paths of righteousness for His name’s sake.

Psalm 24:5   He shall receive blessing from the Lord, and righteousness from the God of his salvation.

Psalm 31:19    Oh, how great is Your goodness, Which You have laid up for those who fear You, Which You have prepared for those who trust in You In the presence of the sons of men!

Psalm 35:27-28    Let them shout for joy and be glad, Who favor my righteous cause;  And let them say continually, “Let the Lord be magnified, Who has pleasure in the prosperity of His servant.” And my tongue shall speak of Your righteousness And of Your praise all the day long.

Proverbs 10:6   Blessings are on the head of the righteous, but violence covers the mouth of the wicked.

Proverbs 10:22    The blessing of the Lord makes one rich, and He adds no sorrow with it.

Proverbs 11:25    The generous soul will be made rich, and he who waters will also be watered himself.

Proverbs 14:11    The house of the wicked will be overthrown, But the tent of the upright will flourish.

Proverbs 15:6    In the house of the righteous there is much treasure, But in the revenue of the wicked is trouble.

Proverbs 24:25     But those who rebuke the wicked will have delight, and a good blessing will come upon them.

Proverbs 28:20     A faithful man will abound with blessings, but he who hastens to be rich will not go unpunished.

Isaiah 44:3    For I will pour water on him who is thirsty, and floods on the dry ground; I will pour My Spirit on your descendants, and My blessing on your offspring;

Isaiah 48:15  I, even I, have spoken; Yes, I have called him, I have brought him, and his way will prosper.

Matthew 7:11    If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask Him!

John 10:10 Jesus Said:    I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.

3 John 1:2    Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers.
