God’s Great Wrath and Indignation

Zechariah 1:14

God is A Just and Righteous God,
Zealous for His Beloved Children,
Pouring out His Wrath and Indignation
on All Who Cause His Children Harm.

Wrath:  angry, violent, or stern indignation; divine vengeance or retribution
Indignation: strong displeasure at something considered unjust, offensive, insulting, or base; righteous anger.

God is Zealous

God is alive and aware, intricately involved in everything that touches His children, and greatly opposed to their mistreatment.

God’s great wrath and indignation is not something to fear but something to cherish and celebrate because it is not directed at His beloved but at those who seek to harm, discourage, and deceive those He cares for deeply.

Romans 12:19  Beloved, do not avenge yourselves, but rather give place to wrath; for it is written, “Vengeance is Mine, I will repay,” says the Lord.

2 Kings 22:13  Go, inquire of the Lord for me and for the people and for all Judah concerning the words of this book that has been found. For great is the wrath of the Lord that is kindled against us because our fathers have not listened and obeyed the words of this book, to do according to all that is written concerning us.

2 Kings 23:26  Still the Lord did not turn from the fierceness of His great wrath, kindled against Judah because of all the provocations with which Manasseh had provoked Him.

Psalm 90:11  Who knows the power of Your anger? [Who worthily connects this brevity of life with Your recognition of sin?] And Your wrath, who connects it with the reverent and worshipful fear that is due You?

Psalm 102:10  Because of Your indignation and Your wrath, for You have taken me up and cast me away.

Jeremiah 21:5  And I Myself will fight against you with an outstretched hand and with a strong arm in anger, in fury, and in great indignation and wrath.

Jeremiah 32:37  Behold, I will gather them out of all countries to which I drove them in My anger and in My wrath and in great indignation; I will bring them again to this place, and I will make them dwell safely.

Ezekiel 25:17  And I will execute great vengeance upon them with wrathful rebukes and chastisements, and they shall know (understand and realize) that I am the Lord, when I lay My vengeance upon them.
