Unlimited God

Revelation 4:8-11

God is Infinite

Infinite:   immeasurably great, exceedingly great, unlimited or unmeasurable in extent of space, unlimited or unmeasurable in duration of time, unbounded or unlimited, boundless, endless, having no limits or boundaries in time, space, extent, or magnitude; extremely or immeasurably great or numerous; all-embracing, absolute, or total

Exodus 15:18  The Lord will reign forever and ever.

Deuteronomy 3:24    Sovereign LORD, you have begun to show to your servant your greatness and your strong hand. For what god is there in heaven or on earth who can do the deeds and mighty works you do?

1 Kings 8:22-27    Then Solomon stood before the altar of the LORD in front of the whole assembly of Israel, spread out his hands toward heaven and said:

“LORD, the God of Israel, there is no God like you in heaven above or on earth below—you who keep your covenant of love with your servants who continue wholeheartedly in your way. You have kept your promise to your servant David my father; with your mouth you have promised and with your hand you have fulfilled it—as it is today.”

“Now LORD, the God of Israel, keep for your servant David my father the promises you made to him when you said, ‘You shall never fail to have a successor to sit before me on the throne of Israel, if only your descendants are careful in all they do to walk before me faithfully as you have done.’ And now, God of Israel, let your word that you promised your servant David my father come true. “But will God really dwell on earth? The heavens, even the highest heaven, cannot contain you. How much less this temple I have built!

II Chronicles 2:5-6    And the house that I build is great:   for great is our God above all Gods. But who is able to build him a house, seeing the heaven and heaven of heavens cannot contain him? who am I then, that I should build him a house, save only to burn sacrifice before him?

Nehemiah 9:5    Stand up and bless the Lord your God from everlasting to everlasting. Blessed be Your glorious name which is exalted above all blessing and praise.

Job 9:10    He performs wonders that cannot be fathomed, miracles that cannot be counted.

Job 11:7-9 7    Can you fathom the mysteries of God? Can you probe the limits of the Almighty? They are higher than the heavens above — what can you do? They are deeper than the depths below — what can you know? Their measure is longer than the earth and wider than the sea.

Job 36:26     How great is God—beyond our understanding! The number of his years is past finding out.

Psalm 48:1 Great is the LORD, and most worthy of praise

Infinite Love

Psalm 48:9-10     Within your temple, O God, we meditate on your unfailing love. Like your name, O God,your praise reaches to the ends of the earth;

Psalm 48:14     For this God is our God for ever and ever; He will be our guide even to the end.

Psalm 89
I will sing of the mercy and loving-kindness of the Lord forever;
with my mouth will I make known Your faithfulness from generation to generation.
For I have said, Mercy and loving-kindness shall be built up forever;
Your faithfulness will You establish in the very heavens

[unchangeable and perpetual].

[You have said] I have made a covenant with My chosen one,
I have sworn to David My servant,
Your Seed I will establish forever,
and I will build up your throne for all generations.

Let heaven (the angels) praise Your wonders, O Lord,
Your faithfulness also in the assembly of the holy ones (the holy angels).
For who in the heavens can be compared to the Lord?
Who among the mighty [heavenly beings] can be likened to the Lord,
A God greatly feared and revered in the council of the holy (angelic) ones,
and to be feared and worshipfully revered
above all those who are round about Him?

O Lord God of hosts, who is a mighty one like unto You, O Lord?
And Your faithfulness is round about You
[an essential part of You at all times].

I have found David My servant; with My holy oil have I anointed him,
With whom My hand shall be established and ever abide;
My arm also shall strengthen him.

My faithfulness and My mercy and loving-kindness shall be with him,
and in My name shall his horn be exalted
[great power and prosperity shall be conferred upon him].

My mercy and loving-kindness will I keep for him forevermore,
and My covenant shall stand fast and be faithful with him.
His Offspring also will I make to endure forever,
and his throne as the days of heaven.
My loving-kindness will I not break off from him,
nor allow My faithfulness to fail [to lie and be false to him].

My covenant will I not break or profane,
nor alter the thing that is gone out of My lips.
Once [for all] have I sworn by My holiness,
which cannot be violated; I will not lie to David:
His Offspring shall endure forever,
and his throne [shall continue] as the sun before Me.
It shall be established forever as the moon,
the faithful witness in the heavens.
Blessed be the Lord forevermore! Amen and Amen.

Psalm 90:2    Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever You had formed the earth and the world, even from everlasting to everlasting, You are God.

Psalm 102:25-27    In the beginning you laid the foundations of the earth, and the heavens are the work of your hands. They will perish, but you remain; they will all wear out like a garment. Like clothing you will change them and they will be discarded. But you remain the same, and your years will never end.

Psalm 119:89-96
Your word, LORD, is eternal; it stands firm in the heavens.
Your faithfulness continues through all generations; you established the earth, and it endures.  Your laws endure to this day, for all things serve you.

If your law had not been my delight, I would have perished in my affliction.
I will never forget your precepts, for by them you have preserved my life.
Save me, for I am yours; I have sought out your precepts.
The wicked are waiting to destroy me, but I will ponder your statutes.
To all perfection I see a limit, but your commands are boundless.

Psalm 139
O Lord, you have searched me [thoroughly] and have known me.  You know my downsitting and my uprising; You understand my thought afar off.  You sift and search out my path and my lying down, and You are acquainted with all my ways.  For there is not a word in my tongue [still unuttered], but, behold, O Lord, You know it altogether.  You have beset me and shut me in—behind and before, and You have laid Your hand upon me.  Your [infinite] knowledge is too wonderful for me; it is high above me, I cannot reach it.

Where could I go from Your Spirit? Or where could I flee from Your presence?  If I ascend up into heaven, You are there; if I make my bed in Sheol (the place of the dead), behold, You are there.  If I take the wings of the morning or dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea, Even there shall Your hand lead me, and Your right hand shall hold me.  If I say, Surely the darkness shall cover me and the night shall be [the only] light about me, Even the darkness hides nothing from You, but the night shines as the day; the darkness and the light are both alike to You.  For You did form my inward parts; You did knit me together in my mother’s womb.

I will confess and praise You for You are fearful and wonderful and for the awful wonder of my birth! Wonderful are Your works, and that my inner self knows right well.  My frame was not hidden from You when I was being formed in secret [and] intricately and curiously wrought [as if embroidered with various colors] in the depths of the earth [a region of darkness and mystery].  Your eyes saw my unformed substance, and in Your book all the days [of my life] were written before ever they took shape, when as yet there was none of them.

How precious and weighty also are Your thoughts to me, O God! How vast is the sum of them!  If I could count them, they would be more in number than the sand.

When I awoke, [could I count to the end] I would still be with You.  If You would [only] slay the wicked, O God, and the men of blood depart from me— Who speak against You wickedly, Your enemies who take Your name in vain!  Do I not hate them, O Lord, who hate You? And am I not grieved and do I not loathe those who rise up against You?  I hate them with perfect hatred; they have become my enemies.

Search me [thoroughly], O God, and know my heart! Try me and know my thoughts!  And see if there is any wicked or hurtful way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.

Psalm 145:3 Great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised; and his greatness is unsearchable.

Psalm 147:5    Great is our Lord, and of great power: his understanding is infinite.

Isaiah 40:12-14    Who has measured the waters in the hollow of his hand, or with the breadth of his hand marked off the heavens? Who has held the dust of the earth in a basket, or weighed the mountains on the scales and the hills in a balance? Who can fathom the Spirit of the LORD, or instruct the LORD as his counselor? Whom did the LORD consult to enlighten him, and who taught him the right way? Who was it that taught him knowledge, or showed him the path of understanding?

Isaiah 40:28    Do you not know? Have you not heard? The LORD is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom.

Isaiah 44:6    This is what the LORD says— Israel’s King and Redeemer, the LORD Almighty: I am the first and I am the last; apart from me there is no God.

Isaiah 54:8    In a little burst of wrath I hid My face from you for a moment, but with age-enduring love and kindness I will have compassion and mercy on you, says the Lord, your Redeemer.

Isaiah 66:1    Thus says the Lord:   Heaven is My throne, and the earth is My footstool.  What kind of house would  you build for Me? And what kind can be My resting-place?

Jeremiah 5:22    Do you not fear and reverence Me? says the Lord. Do you not tremble before Me? I placed the sand for the boundary of the sea, a perpetual barrier beyond which it cannot pass and by an everlasting ordinance beyond which it cannot go? And though the waves of the sea toss and shake themselves, yet they cannot prevail [against the feeble grains of sand which God has ordained by nature to be sufficient for His purpose]; though [the billows] roar, yet they cannot pass over that [barrier]. [Is not such a God to be reverently feared and worshiped?]

Jeremiah 23:23-24    Am I a God at hand, says the Lord, and not a God afar off? Can anyone hide himself in secret places so that I cannot see him? says the Lord. Do not I fill heaven and earth? says the Lord.

Daniel 6:26    I make a decree that in all my royal dominion men must tremble and fear before the God of Daniel, for He is the living God, enduring and steadfast forever, and His kingdom shall not be destroyed and His dominion shall be even to the end [of the world].

John 3:34    For since He Whom God has sent speaks the words of God [proclaims God’s own message], God does not give Him His Spirit sparingly or by measure, but boundless is the gift God makes of His Spirit!

Acts 17:24-28    The God Who produced and formed the world and all things in it, being Lord of heaven and earth, does not dwell in handmade shrines. Neither is He served by human hands, as though He lacked anything, for it is He Himself Who gives life and breath and all things to all [people]. And He made from one [common origin, one source, one blood] all nations of men to settle on the face of the earth, having definitely determined [their] allotted periods of time and the fixed boundaries of their habitation (their settlements, lands, and abodes), So that they should seek God, in the hope that they might feel after Him and find Him, although He is not far from each one of us. For in Him we live and move and have our being; as even some of your [own] poets have said, For we are also His offspring.

Romans 11:33     Oh, the depth of the riches of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable his judgments, and his paths beyond tracing out!

Ephesians 1:19    And [so that you can know and understand] what is the immeasurable and unlimited and surpassing greatness of His power in and for us who believe, as demonstrated in the working of His mighty strength

Ephesians 2:7    He did this that He might clearly demonstrate through the ages to come the immeasurable (limitless, surpassing) riches of His free grace (His unmerited favor) in [His] kindness and goodness of heart toward us in Christ Jesus.

Ephesians 3
For this reason [because I preached that you are thus built up together], I, Paul, [am] the prisoner of Jesus the Christ for the sake and on behalf of you Gentiles — Assuming that you have heard of the stewardship of God’s grace (His unmerited favor) that was entrusted to me [to dispense to you] for your benefit, [And] that the mystery (secret) was made known to me and I was allowed to comprehend it by direct revelation, as I already briefly wrote you. When you read this you can understand my insight into the mystery of Christ.

[This mystery] was never disclosed to human beings in past generations as it has now been revealed to His holy apostles (consecrated messengers) and prophets by the [Holy] Spirit. [It is this:] that the Gentiles are now to be fellow heirs [with the Jews], members of the same body and joint partakers [sharing] in the same divine promise in Christ through [their acceptance of] the glad tidings (the Gospel).

Of this [Gospel] I was made a minister according to the gift of God’s free grace (undeserved favor) which was bestowed on me by the exercise (the working in all its effectiveness) of His power. To me, though I am the very least of all the saints (God’s consecrated people), this grace (favor, privilege) was granted and graciously entrusted: to proclaim to the Gentiles the unending (boundless, fathomless, incalculable, and exhaustless) riches of Christ [wealth which no human being could have searched out], Also to enlighten all men and make plain to them what is the plan [regarding the Gentiles and providing for the salvation of all men] of the mystery kept hidden through the ages and concealed until now in [the mind of] God Who created all things by Christ Jesus.

[The purpose is] that through the church the complicated, many-sided wisdom of God in all its infinite variety and innumerable aspects might now be made known to the angelic rulers and authorities (principalities and powers) in the heavenly sphere.

This is in accordance with the terms of the eternal and timeless purpose which He has realized and carried into effect in [the person of] Christ Jesus our Lord, In Whom, because of our faith in Him, we dare to have the boldness (courage and confidence) of free access (an unreserved approach to God with freedom and without fear).

So I ask you not to lose heart [not to faint or become despondent through fear] at what I am suffering in your behalf. [Rather glory in it] for it is an honor to you. For this reason [seeing the greatness of this plan by which you are built together in Christ], I bow my knees before the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, For Whom every family in heaven and on earth is named [that Father from Whom all fatherhood takes its title and derives its name].

May He grant you out of the rich treasury of His glory to be strengthened and reinforced with mighty power in the inner man by the [Holy] Spirit [Himself indwelling your innermost being and personality].
May Christ through your faith [actually] dwell (settle down, abide, make His permanent home) in your hearts! May you be rooted deep in love and founded securely on love, That you may have the power and be strong to apprehend and grasp with all the saints [God’s devoted people, the experience of that love] what is the breadth and length and height and depth [of it]; [That you may really come] to know [practically, through experience for yourselves] the love of Christ, which far surpasses mere knowledge [without experience]; that you may be filled [through all your being] unto all the fullness of God [may have the richest measure of the divine Presence, and become a body wholly filled and flooded with God Himself]!

Now to Him Who, by (in consequence of) the [action of His] power that is at work within us, is able to [carry out His purpose and] do superabundantly, far over and above all that we [dare] ask or think [infinitely beyond our highest prayers, desires, thoughts, hopes, or dreams]— To Him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations forever and ever. Amen (so be it).

Ephesians 6:10    In conclusion, be strong in the Lord [be empowered through your union with Him]; draw your strength from Him [that strength which His boundless might provides].

1 Peter 1:3    Praised (honored, blessed) be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ (the Messiah)! By His boundless mercy we have been born again to an ever-living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead

Revelation 4:8-11    And the four living creatures, individually having six wings, were full of eyes all over and within [underneath their wings]; and day and night they never stop saying, Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God Almighty (Omnipotent), Who was and Who is and Who is to come. And whenever the living creatures offer glory and honor and thanksgiving to Him Who sits on the throne, Who lives forever and ever (through the eternities of the eternities), The twenty-four elders (the members of the heavenly Sanhedrin) fall prostrate before Him Who is sitting on the throne, and they worship Him Who lives forever and ever; and they throw down their crowns before the throne, crying out, Worthy are You, our Lord and God, to receive the glory and the honor and dominion, for You created all things; by Your will they were [brought into being] and were created.

Revelation 22:13    I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End.

Thank you for your kind words on this and other posts. I am blessed beyond measure when God uses work He has prompted me to do to bless others. This site came about by His providence as I never set out to do this or had any plans to do this. Everything here is a blessing and an inspiration from God. Some of the things, a great deal of them, have been an overwhelming blessing to me and I read them as if for the first time. I feel like I didn’t write or compose or create any of this of myself. God has used ShareAVerse to help me study His word and to document the things He has been showing me. I get so excited as I am led from one verse to another and sit back and see the connection of the scriptures from Old Testament to New and back. God has shown me new and exciting ways to open the scriptures up and see deeper meanings.

God’s Word is living. After years of reading multiple versions of the Bible cover to cover I can still read a verse or passage and it’s like I never read it before. As we grow and seek God and ask for wisdom and discernment He opens our eyes to see Him in everything. He opens our ears to hear His voice speaking true meaning and depth. He opens our minds to be able to grasp what is too lofty for us to understand. He opens our hearts so we can receive His love and His Truth.

Hard days have been made happy for me as God expressed Himself through me in art for every page. God is the creator of all things. Color. Design. Beauty. Art is a reflection of Him. All art reflects God’s handiwork, nature, the heavens and the stars, man, emotions. Beauty moves us because it is an expression of God on a level we are too finite to truly consume. This is why beauty can flood our being with such overwhelming emotional responses.

I often think we limit God to the point that we lose much of Who He Is. When we put God in our image instead of us in His we focus on piety, an outward show of what we call holiness and righteousness. We lose sight of the vastness of God. Yes, God is holy and righteous but He is also joy, love, peace, mercy, beauty, laughter, fellowship, and a range of emotions we don’t even have words adequate to express. We serve an amazing God.

i pray God’s blessings and favor on you and your life. I pray God’s hand on you and for Him to wrap His loving arms around and comfort you. I do not know what your joys or your pains are, but God does. I pray His eye on you and His ear attentive to your prayers. I pray for healing, provision, and wholeness in your person, your family, and your heart as you walk with Him. In Jesus Name – Amen
